Often I get questions from women that go something like this: "I really
like this guy and want to date him, but he's four years younger than me. Do you think there's anything wrong with that?"

The short answer is: Not unless he is under 18.

You've come to the right place to ask that question. I never planned it this way, and never saw myself as the "older woman," but no question about it, I have dated younger men (and men of all ages) all my life.

The first younger man I ever dated - I was 25 and he was 19. I answered an ad to buy an upright piano for $350. Jacob (not his real name) got the piano to my upstairs apartment and stayed to talk. Later he called and asked me out. It turned out to be a long-lasting, off and on relationship over the years. If the age thing was ever an issue, it was only to make the relationship that much more exciting, to tell you the truth.

So when women ask me with such hesitancy about whether they should think about dating a younger man, all I can think of is: why in the world not??

But don't just date younger men - date older men.  Date all kinds of men.
